WebJust look at the NS's C39-8's they are only 15-17 years old and they are all slated for retirement by the end of this year. While their EMD counterparts, the SD60's, none have been retired, besides the 6701 which because of it's lease. GE's just don't last. WebSep 1, 2012 · The SD50 has four latched doors in six door panels and the SD60 has six latched doors in eight door panels. Needless to say, this can be a difficult process as a locomotive passes at speed so it's best to acquaint yourself with road numbers or have a roster close at hand. I hope this helps.
